PRICELESS JEWEL jumped inwards. ALS BONANZA was slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. CAPTAINOFMYSOUL was restless in the stalls. BUTTERFLY GIRL had to have a shoe replaced in the saddling area, which resulted in the mare parading and proceeding to the start late. Jockey Byleveld reported that he felt something amiss with ALS BONANZA in running as a result did not persevere with his riding in the closing stages. In view of the performance from COSMIC FLOWER, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the mare and submit a report. PRICELESS JEWEL and THE WHICH DOCTOR were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ALS BONANZA - returned unlevel behind. COSMIC FLOWER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
