DON'T MENTION IT was slow into stride. WHISTLING WONDER lost one length. ROYAL HONEYMOON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. THE QUEEN stumbled leaving the starting stalls. LOVE AND WAR, over-racing, became cramped for galloping room approaching the 800 metre mark and was eased off the inside running rail, losing position. Thereafter ROCKET LADY and GARDEN TREASURE shifted in slightly, which resulted in FLY PEG FLY and THE QUEEN becoming cramped for galloping room and THE QUEEN having to be eased and losing position. Jockey Odendaal, the rider of ROCKET LADY, and Jockey Randolph, the rider of GARDEN TREASURE, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and were advised to take more care when shifting ground towards the rail in future. In view of the performance of THE QUEEN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: THE QUEEN - nothing obvious detected. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
