STAY AMAZED stumbled shortly after the start. SIENA CHAPEL and WINTER LOVE were slow, losing 1 to 2 lengths. BELLA RINA flyjumped leaving the stalls, losing 1 to 2 lengths. BELLA RINA raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind. Apprentice Munger, the rider of BELLA RINA, lost his right side stirrup iron as the start was effected, which he regained shortly thereafter. Jockey Lerena reported that MIESQUE'S STORM was not striding out freely and did not persevere with his mount in the latter stages. Jockey Little was charged with a contravention and signed an Admission of Guilt in that he failed to ride the horse WINTER LOVE out to the end of the race. The Board took into account that Mr Little has only recently returned from a lengthy suspension and therefore imposed a penalty of a Warning. NORTHERN HORIZONS and SIENA CHAPEL were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Rahilly was questioned with regards to this filly's performance. He explained to the Board that in his opinion this filly had been above herself in the parade ring and had subsequently over-raced in the early stages. Trainer Rahilly has undertaken to report back to the Stipendiary Board should he find anything amiss on return to stables. Vet: CROWN BEARER - abnormal respiratory noise. LATINO ICE - not striding out right front. MIESQUE'S STORM and WINTER LOVE - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: ANNA BIANCA - off feed. GLITTERSLIKEGOLD - abnormal temperature. PRUDENT AND PLAIN - lame right front knee.
