GOLDIE COAST (AUS) lost 2 lengths. ALBERT was slow into stride. EMPEROR NIARCHOS and PYROTECHNICS were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NINETEEN FOURTEEN over-raced in the early stages. SHOES 'N COMPANY, over-racing, became cramped and was steadied on the inside of NINETEEN FOURTEEN at approximately the 1100 metre mark. In view of the performance of FRIAR TUCK, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. The Medical Officer reported that Jockey Cormack stood down due to knee trauma. He was replaced on his mounts in Races 7 and 8. Vet: FRIAR TUCK - nothing obvious detected.
