PHILOSOPHY, which was restless in the stalls, was reluctant and stubborn loading. Trainer Kruyer will be advised to re-school this filly before her next engagement. In view of the performances from PHILOSOPHY and RAY'S ANGEL, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies and submit a report. HOPE DOWNS was baulked for a clear run between the 400 and 200m. HOPE DOWNS and RATATOUILLE raced tightly on the inside of EXOTIC JET approaching the 1300m. Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of EXOTIC JET, appeared before the Board and was advised to give more room to runners on his inside in races around the bend in future. Trainer Bruss was questioned regarding the improved performance from LADY AMI in today's race, compared to her previous race on 29 July 2014, when she finished 12.95 lengths behind the winner over 2000m at Durbanville Racecourse. Trainer Bruss told the Stewards that in this filly's previous run she had been chased up to race in a forward position and had tired in the closing stages. In today's race the filly had been able to obtain cover and had been able to finish the run off strongly. Mr Bruss' attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to inconsistent form and the future performances of LADY AMI will be monitored. LADY AMI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: PHILOSOPHY - showed signs of fatigue and had a cut in her mouth. RAY'S ANGEL - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
