BOLD ATTITUDE and FERUDA were slow into stride. ROYALSECURITYJET (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Naidoo was questioned with regard to the improved performance of ROYALSECURITYJET (AUS) compared to this gelding's previous performances. Trainer Naidoo explained that he had difficulty in getting this gelding to settle in his previous starts. From the 2nd August 2014 and including today's run, he had used a ring bit, and with his tongue tied this had helped him settle. This coupled with the polytrack racing surface, in his opinion had accounted for the improvement shown. The Stipendiary Board advised Mr Naidoo to race ROYALSECURITYJET (AUS) similarly equipped and over similar distances as today on the polytrack in future. The Board further advised Mr Naidoo that the future performances of ROYALSECURITYJET (AUS) will be monitored. COWBOY shifted out slightly approaching the 300 metre mark, resulting in ROYALSECURITYJET (AUS) becoming cramped for galloping room and having to be eased, and PILGOVAN STAR being switched inwards to obtain a clear run. FALLING SKY shifted out slightly at approximately the 150 metre mark, resulting in CAPRIVI STRIP becoming cramped along the outside rail and having to be eased. Thereafter CAPRIVI STRIP was baulked for a clear run over the final 100 metres. Jockey Cormack, the rider of D'VASH, and Jockey Forbes, the rider of BOLD ATTITUDE, reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. FERUDA took no interest in running. Vet: D'VASH and BOLD ATTITUDE - nothing obvious detected. FERUDA - coughing. Scratched: YOUR WORSHIP - insufficient recovery time.
