Whilst over-racing in the early and middle stages leaving the 1000m, SAINT PHILIP raced onto and clipped the heels of BROTHERHOOD. As a consequence of this incident, SAN VERDE was momentarily inconvenienced. In view of the performance of ALL TIME HIGH the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SAN VERDE shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. Jockey Marcus signed an admission of guilt for a contravention, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse ALL TIME HIGH more than 12 times in the entire Race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey Marcus the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey Marcus struck the horse ALL TIME HIGH, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey Marcus used his crop and his record (4) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty was imposed. SAINT PHILIP was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. UPTOWN FUNK raced without cheek pieces and raced equipped with a tongue tie. The Medical Officer reported Jockey Dillon stood down after the running of this Race due to dehydration. Unable to continue riding. Vet: ALL TIME HIGH - cast left hind shoe and not striding out right hind. SAINT PHILIP - over-reached left fore. JUMPING CASTLE - coughing and not striding out right hind. Scratched: MANIC BRAWLING - insufficient recovery time. STUNNING GUEST - heat right fore. ESCADRILLE - abscess left hind. TIGER TANK - not eating up.
