The start of this Race was delayed due to horses leaving the parade ring late. BORN TO PERFORM lost two lengths. AMOR ARDIENTE and CAMPHORATUS were restless in the stalls. A race review, pertaining to CROWN TOWERS (AUS), drawn in stall gate 9, was called into the start of this race. In this regard, it was established that as the start was effected, the handler who was assisting CROWN TOWERS (AUS), which had become restless in the stalls earlier, had impeded Jockey Khumalo with his right arm. This caused Jockey Khumalo to become unbalanced and dislodged from this gelding. Consequently, the Board declared CROWN TOWERS (AUS) a non-runner. Jockey de Melo reported that MASTER MAGIC was fatigued post race. AMOR ARDIENTE raced wide in the early and middle stages. KNIGHTS TEMPLAR, CROWN TOWERS (AUS) and SILVER GOD were late into the parade ring. Trainers Snaith and, Govender acting on behalf of Trainer Tarry were reminded of their obligations to present their horses in the parade ring at least 15 minutes before the start of a Race. BORN TO PERFORM and TRISTFUL were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The medical officer reported Jockey Kennedy stood down after the running of this Race due to an upper back spasm. Jockey Khumalo stood down after the being dislodged in this Race due to a bruised left shoulder blade. Unable to continue riding. Vet: MASTER MAGIC - not striding out left fore. Scratched: CROWN TOWERS (AUS) - declared a non-runner - impeded by the handler.
