BLACK JAGUAR, AUTO PILOT, CHIPNPUTT and RUN SOFTLY were slow into stride. FIRST FLIGHT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. CHIPNPUTT raced wide on the bend. Apprentice Zackey reported that CHIPNPUTT was making an abnormal respiratory noise. BLACK JAGUAR was continually baulked for a clear run from approximately the 250 metre mark to the 100 metre mark and thereafter was switched in to obtain a clear run. Thereafter LIVE CONTROVERSY shifted in, carrying BLACK JAGUAR inwards, resulting in BLACK JAGUAR becoming cramped and making contact with AUTO PILOT on two occasions. BLACK JAGUAR and AUTO PILOT became unbalanced due to this, and AUTO PILOT was checked off the heels of EMBLEM ROYALE. An objection was lodged by Jockey Lerena, the rider of BLACK JAGUAR, placed fourth, against LIVE CONTROVERSY, placed second, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. After considering the evidence, the Board was of the opinion that but for the interference BLACK JAGUAR would have beaten LIVE CONTROVERSY and therefore upheld the objection and amended the Judge's result. Vet: CHIPNPUTT - nothing obvious detected. BENGAL BLUFF - coughing. Scratched: HICKORY HILL - insufficient recovery time.
