ASSEZ and CLUB BURLESQUE were slow into stride. TURBO TORCH was difficult to load. COOL ENCOUNTER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ASSEZ raced wide in the early stages. WHISTLING DUCK jumped outwards at the start and thereafter shifted in. Simultaneously PRIVATE NUMBER shifted out slightly, resulting in PRIVATE NUMBER having to be eased off the heels of WHISTLING DUCK for a number of strides. Jockey Delpech, the rider of WHISTLING DUCK, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear before allowing his mounts to shift ground in races, in future. TURBO TORCH became momentarily cramped for galloping room leaving the 1200 metre mark. QUEENOFENGAGEMENT raced green. Apprentice Dillon reported that he felt something amiss with QUEENOFENGAGMENT in running. CLUB BURLESQUE raced wide into the straight. MOGOKITY raced unshod. Vet: QUEENOFENGAGEMENT - blowing. Scratched: UPSTREAM - abscess right fore hoof.
