BONNARD jumped awkwardly and thereafter was slow into stride. TIBET spread the left front shoe en route to the start which the farrier had to replace, causing a delay. In view of the performance from GOLDEN DANE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding and submit a report. Jockey Andrews reported that TIBET did not stride out freely in running. VALERIO was hanging out in the closing stages. Apprentice Neethling was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C, Appendix L, in that he misused his crop by hitting BONNARD more than three times on consecutive strides in the concluding stages. Apprentice Neethling signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined . MAGICAL BET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: GOLDEN DANE - returned not striding out freely. SAXONY - lost the near fore shoe in running.
