ISWITHI (AUS) was slow into stride. SOPHIA lost one length. BELT UP was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer van Zyl was questioned with regard to the improved performance of BELT UP compared to this filly's previous run on the 12th August 2014. He explained that in this filly's previous start on the 12 August 2014 was too soon after her penultimate run on the 07 August 2014. This coupled with BELT UP pulling hard in the early stages and racing wide on the bend had resulted in this filly compounding in the latter stages. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. FREUDIANA steadied off the heels of DESROCHES at approximately the 1800 metre mark. SOPHIA was pulling hard in the early stages, difficult to restrain. ASCOT CHARM became cramped for galloping room and was momentarily eased between the 2300 and 2200 metre marks. Jockey Lerena reported that MY LOVELY (AUS) was making an abnormal respiratory noise post race. Vet: MY LOVELY (AUS) - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ICEOLITE - elevated temperature.
