TAJ AMIR jumped awkwardly inwards and carried OH SO MODUS inwards. In view of the performance from SHOUT, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. Apprentice van der Hoven was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline G, Appendix L, in that he misused his crop when hitting TAJ AMIR when out of contention for a place. Apprentice van der Hoven signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. TRIPTOTHESTARS was bumped at the 1500m and turned inwards by TAJ AMIR, which initially jumped inwards out of the stalls and then when being corrected shifted out sharply. Apprentice van der Hoven, the rider of TAJ AMIR, appeared before the Board and was advised to exercise more care in future. STORMING HOME was tightened at the 200m for galloping room on the inside of DONATO, which shifted in away from the crop. Jockey Byleveld, the rider of DONATO, appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to take the necessary measures to keep his mounts on a straight course. TRIPTOTHESTARS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SHOUT - returned not striding out on both hind. Scratched: BRAVE NEW WARRIOR - colic, under medication.
