THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHINWAG was reluctant to load and kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. b) NTIBINDI was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h19) b) The start of this race was delayed to allow time for an article that had blown onto the race course at the 1200m to be removed. c) In the concluding stages NTIBINDI, which initially shifted in slightly, was carried outwards by PEACE GARLAND, which shifted out shortly before the finish. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with REMUNERATION. The Veterinarian was requested to examine this filly. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CHINWAG, Trainer M Rix was advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) BEFORE SUNRISE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
