PHIRI E KWATILE and SUPREME POWER were difficult to settle in the early stages. Apprentice Carstens, the rider of BELCOURT CASTLE, was charged with a contravention in that he rode in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 100m. Apprentice Carstens signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. EVENING STORM had to steady in the concluding stages when severely tightened for galloping room on the inside running rail when improving on the inside of ARACHNE, which shifted in slightly shortly before the finish. ARACHNE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Scratched: DEFINITIVE - injured left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
