GLITTERING JET, which was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly with her head up losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. In view of the performance from GLITTERING JET, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Jockey Byleveld reported that JET TURBINE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. When questioned regarding the improved performance from CAN COPE today compared to the filly's previous run on 6 August 2014, when she finished 10.50 lengths behind the winner, Trainer Crawford told the Stewards this filly had tired in the closing stages in its previous race due to the heavy going on that occasion (penetrometer reading 35). Having reviewed the patrol video of the race the Board noted Trainer Crawford's explanation and drew his attention to the Rules pertaining to inconsistent form. CAN COPE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: GLITTERING JET and JET TURBINE - was inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
