I AM THE LAW jumped awkwardly and dropped its head shortly after the start. SHEPHERDS PURSE jumped awkwardly outwards and thereafter was slow into stride. The start of this race was delayed as I AM THE LAW had to be re-saddled at the start. In view of the performances from I AM THE LAW and SHEPHERDS PURSE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings and submit a report. Jockey Andrews was charged with a contravention, in that he rode SHEPHERDS PURSE in an unprofessional manner when he dropped his crop at the 300m. Jockey Andrews signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. SHINNING DAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: I AM THE LAW - was inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. SHEPHERDS PURSE - returned cut into on the left hind.
