The start of this Race was delayed due to the late arrival of horses at the start. GLORIOUS MOMENT, SEATTLE MOON, TOBY JUG and BEZ VALLEY were slow into stride. ROYAL HONEYMOON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ROCKET LADY and SEATTLE MOON became cramped and made contact on two occasions shortly after the start. ROYAL HONEYMOON was hanging in over the final 300 metres. Jockey de Melo reported that TOBY JUG faltered on a number of occasions on the bend and as a result he did not persevere with his ride over the final 250 metres. TOUCHING BASE was not persevered with in the latter stages. Vet: TOBY JUG and TOUCHING BASE - nothing obvious detected.
