ROCK LEGEND jumped awkwardly with her head up and thereafter was slow into stride. GLAMOUR GAL jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. In view of the performance from BLUE MARTINI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly and submit a report. Jockey Schlechter reported that ROCK LEGEND did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Fayd'Herbe reported that WHAT ABOUT MARIA changed stride continually in running. TRILATERAL was awkwardly placed leaving the 1100m and had to steady on the heels of BLUE MARTINI, which shifted in. Jockey Khathi, the rider of BLUE MARTINI, was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TRILATERAL when he shifted in leaving the 1100m. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt for the penalty of a Warning. JEWELLER'S JOY was baulked for a clear run between the 450m and 200m. SHELTERED shifted in away from the crop in the closing stages. When questioned regarding the improved performance from SHELTERED today compared to the filly's previous race on 24 September 2014, over 1300m at Durbanville, when the filly finished 14.80 lengths behind the winner, Trainer Kruyer told the Stewards that the filly was very green in her first run and had tired in the latter stages of that race. Today, although still green she had benefitted from her previous race and had run according to her work at home. The Board reviewed her previous race, confirmed Mr Kruyer's report and will continue to monitor the filly's future performances. SHELTERED was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BLUE MARTINI, ROCK LEGEND and WHAT ABOUT MARIA - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. JEWELLER'S JOY - returned speedy cut on the left fore.
