AFRICAN SUNRISE (D Dillon) refused to load. Withdrawn by the Starter. MOUNT ANDERSON (K de Melo) was stubborn and difficult to load. In deciding what action to take against AFRICAN SUNRISE and MOUNT ANDERSON, the Board considered these horses history in the starting stalls, their gradings, the line in which they were loaded, and the current unique circumstances surrounding racing with Covid-19. Accordingly, the Board decided to afford AFRICAN SUNRISE and MOUNT ANDERSON the benefit of the doubt and advised Trainers W Whitehead and Trainer D Kannemeyer respectively to re-school these geldings prior to their next engagements. Additionally, each has been advised that should either of these geldings behave similarly in future, they are likely to be suspended. INTO THE FUTURE (A Mgudlwa) and MOUNT ANDERSON (K de Melo) were hanging in from the 200m, respectively. MOHICAN (ARG) (A Marcus) over-raced in the early stages. In view of the performance of POLLARD (C Zackey) (distance 6.90 lengths, betting 8/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.FINAL ATTEMPT (*K Sakayi) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
