VARISTAR had to steady at the 300m and switch out to continue its run off the heels of LOTUS LILY LAKE, which shifted inwards. Apprentice Goomany, the rider of LOTUS LILY LAKE, appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. Shortly thereafter LOTUS LILY LAKE was momentarily held up for galloping room on the heels of WESTERN MOVIE. Trainer Snaith called for a race review regarding this incident and after reviewing the patrol videos, decided to take no further action. ASSTAR and BOLD VAR brushed at the 100m on the inside of SIMPLY BLACK, which was hanging inwards in the closing stages. WESTERN MOVIE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
