The start of the 7th Race was slightly delayed for Jockey Marcus to re-saddle DE LA DANZA (AUS) and then to have his mount checked by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race. AKII BUA (AUS) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. KENTUCKY GUEST and AKII BUA (AUS) were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ETON MESS took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Sturgeon reported that INNATE QUALITY was not striding out freely in running. INNATE QUALITY returned post race having cast the right fore shoe. Vet: ETON MESS - nothing obvious detected. MERCURIAL BRAVE - respiratory noise. INNATE QUALITY - not striding out right fore. KENTUCKY GUEST - post race distress and coughing.
