MISS TIGER EYES and POPULAR BLUES fly jumped leaving the stalls and thereafter slow into stride. MAMZELLE were all slow into stride. LILLY'S RUSH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Egdes was questioned regarding the improved performance of LILLY'S RUSH compared to this mare's previous run on the 2.9.2014. He explained that the removal of the blinkers over the longer distance of 2000 metres today had, in his opinion, contributed to this mare's improved performance. Mr Egdes has undertaken to race this mare in a similar manner in her future performances. WIMOWEH was momentarily steadied off the heels of ISWITHI (AUS) at approximately the 100 metre mark. Apprentice Godden, the rider of ISWITHI (AUS), appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures in future to keep his mounts on a straight course. POPULAR BLUES, hanging in, was eased off the heels of WIMOWEH at approximately the 150 metre mark. ISWITHI (AUS) and MAMZELLE over-raced in the early and middle stages, difficult to restrain. Due to the performance of POPULAR BLUES, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Vet: POPULAR BLUES - not striding out right hind. MAMZELLE - speedy cut right fore. Scratched: HICKORY HILL - lame left fore.
