PANJO was stubborn loading, losing 1 to 2 lengths. PANJO became baulked for a clear run at approximately the 250 metre mark and was forced to switch out in order to continue his run. VULCAN, hanging in, shifted in slightly at approximately the 200 metre mark, whilst clear of SOLAR TRIPTYCH resulting in this gelding having to switch out to continue his run. An Objection was lodged by Jockey Khumalo, the rider of the 2nd placed horse, SOLAR TRIPTYCH, against the winner, VULCAN, on the grounds of intimidation at approximately the 200 metre mark. The Objection Board, after viewing the patrol films of the race and hearing all the evidence, were of the opinion that but for this incident, SOLAR TRIPTYCH would not have finished in front of VULCAN and therefore overruled the Objection. The Judges result stands. Jockey Khumalo's deposit was refunded. VULCAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SOLAR TRIPTYCH - coughing.
