CORRIDOR OF POWER reared in the stalls. BREATHLESS BERTIE was slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. CASUAL FAN was slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Trainer Hodgson was questioned regarding the improved performance from TRIPLE BLUFF today compared to the gelding's previous run on 3 August 2014 at Kenilworth over 1200m, when it finished 50 lengths behind the winner. Trainer Hodgson told the Stewards that this gelding had made an abnormal respiratory noise, as reported, during its last run and the gelding had been scoped, which revealed Laryngeal Hemiplegia, which would restrict this gelding in races over ground. Mr Hodgson said that this gelding would be better over 1000m than the further distance of 1200m with this condition. He added he would discuss with the Owner of the horse whether it should be operated on, which may improve the condition. The Stewards noted Mr Hodgson's explanation but drew his attention to the Rules pertaining to inconsistent form and informed him that the future performances of TRIPLE BLUFF will be monitored. Q SCHOOL had to steady leaving the 800m, and CORRIDOR OF POWER and MILLBROOK were carried outwards when RAVISHING LAD, which failed to negotiate the bend, rolled outwards sharply. BREATHLESS BERTIE had to steady at the 700m, off the heels of TRIPLE BLUFF. BREATHLESS BERTIE was hanging in from the 400m. TRIPLE BLUFF and TOMBA LA BOMBA were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BREATHLESS BERTIE is a gelding. Scratched: LIETUVA - sold without engagement.
