RAAT KI RANI, VEGAS LASS, LADY CAROLINE and SWEET AND CLASSY were slow into stride. VEGAS LASS and ON THE THAMES raced equipped with alumite shoes in front, steel behind. VEGAS LASS raced equipped with a tongue tie. Jockey Khumalo did not persevere with his ride on IN CONFORMITY in the latter stages. In view of this filly's performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine IN CONFORMITY. Jockey Khumalo was questioned with regard to his ride on IN CONFORMITY. He explained to the Board that this filly had not travelled in the early stages and had failed to respond when asked for an effort in the straight. Trainer Prinsloo was questioned regarding the performance of IN CONFORMITY. He explained to the Board that this filly had returned from a 91-day rest and, in his opinion, may have needed the run. These explanations were noted. LADY CAROLINE faltered at approximately the 100 metre mark. ENCHANTING LASS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The rider of RAAT KI RANI raced in Club Colours with the Stewards permission. Vet: IN CONFORMITY - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: PRUDENT AND PLAIN - lame left fore.
