The start of this race was delayed due to WISPER THE WIND refusing to load. The starting stalls certificate for WISPER THE WIND has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. ETHEMBA and STRONG BLONDE were slow into stride. FLECHE D'OR raced equipped with a tongue tie. FLECHE D'OR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. SOMETHINWICKED stumbled shortly after the start. Jockey van Rensburg reported that CLOUD RUNNER was not striding out. Trainer Prinsloo was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board should he find anything untoward with CLOUD RUNNER on return to the stables. Jockey Wrogemann reported that ETHEMBA raced with its tongue the over the bit and that he felt something amiss and eased this filly out of the race in the latter stages. Assistant Trainer Miller was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board should she find anything untoward with ETHEMBA on return to the stables. Jockey Khumalo reported WAY WITH WORDS made a respiratory noise. Apprentice Maleking reported that SAINT ACTAVIUS was not striding out. Vet: CLOUD RUNNER - examined post race, no significant findings. ETHEMBA - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. WAY WITH WORDS - abnormal respiratory noise. SAINT ACTAVIUS - not striding out right fore. TRUST THE PINK - coughing. SAFE BET - mild post race distress. Scratched: WISPER THE WIND - refused to load. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
