TUSCAN (ARG), SHOES 'N COMPANY and FIRST ANSWER were slow into stride. KELIKOTE EXPRESS lost 1 length. SAMHAAN (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Kotzen was questioned regarding the improved performance of SAMHAAN (AUS), compared to this gelding's previous run on the 18.6.2014. He stated that the improved run was due to SAMHAAN (AUS) having been gelded after this run. This will be investigated. AWARE and ROY ROYALE (AUS) over-raced in the early stages. CHILL raced wide on the latter part of the bend. KELIKOTE EXPRESS took no interest in running and was hanging in, in the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Apprentice Neethling reported that he felt something amiss with CHILL in the latter stages. Apprentice Dillon reported that he felt something amiss with SHOES 'N COMPANY in running. TUSCAN (ARG) was switched in to obtain a clear run at approximately the 150 metre mark and thereafter was baulked for a clear run for a short distance at approximately the 50 metre mark. AWARE returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. SAMHAAN (AUS) is a gelding and not a colt as carded. Vet: SHOES 'N COMPANY and CHILL - nothing obvious detected. KELIKOTE EXPRESS - coughing. Scratched: STORM BRINGER - colic.
