ROYAL COLOURS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MODERN SPOT over-raced in the early stages. ROYAL COLOURS shifted out away from the crop approaching the 50 metre mark, resulting in MODERN SPOT becoming cramped and having to be steadied. Jockey Cormack, the rider of ROYAL COLOURS, appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take stronger measures to correct his mounts when they shift ground in future. Vet: GOOD IDEA - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: INNATE QUALITY, JAY POWER and TERRACOTTA SOLDIER - change of surface. TRUE STRENGTH - not striding out left fore. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
