The start of this race was delayed due to the Course Farrier having to re-fit the left fore shoe of GOT YOU BABE at the start. Permission was granted for LETAS BONNET to be led to the start with a lead horse. MASKED LADY shifted inwards shortly after the start, which resulted in DOVER BEACH having to ease for several strides and COCO having to ease off the heels of DOVER BEACH. Jockey Khathi signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that whilst riding MASKED LADY he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners in the early stages of this race. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. TAIPAI TIGRESS was pulling hard in the early stages. DOVER BEACH became cramped for galloping room for several strides on the turn from UNTAMED rolling inwards. Apprentice Mxothwa, the rider of UNTAMED, Jockey Zechner, the rider of MISS CANTONA, and Jockey van Niekerk, the rider of PATH TO TRAVEL, reported something amiss with their mounts in the running and Jockey van Niekerk did not persevere with PATH TO TRAVEL over the final 400 metres. LETAS BONNET was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MASKED LADY and PATH TO TRAVEL - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. COCO - abnormal respiratory noise. UNTAMED - not striding out MISS CANTONA - lame right fore. SAINT ANGELIQUE - Bilateral Epistaxis, 90 day suspension.
