NORDIC REBEL (P Strydom) was slow losing 5 lengths. Trainer E Verdonese was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. THRONG (C Maujean) was slow into stride. VAR AND AWAY over raced in the early stages and thereafter shifted in away from the crop in the concluding stages. FLASH BURN (G Lerena) over raced in the early stages. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer S G Tarry was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of FLASH BURN on return to stables. Jockey Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with ASHBAAL (AUS) in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SKIMINAC (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Mngeni advised (LN). ASHBAAL (AUS) was ridden by Jockey R Danielson who weighed out at 54.9kg, 1kg over the carded weight of which 0.5kg was declared on 3 June 2020 at 11H01. This overweight was allowed in terms of Rule 59.9 as ASHBAAL (AUS) was a reserve runner. NORDIC REBEL was ridden by Jockey P Strydom (declared 4 June 2020 at 10H08).
