ETERNAL HOPE was nervous in the stalls. FLYING SQUAW and GIFT OF PEACE were slow into stride and lost 2 lengths respectively. FIELD DANCER jumped out leaving the stalls. GRANADILLA was stubborn loading. MISS TIMPS was slow into stride. Following the running of race 1 it was established by the Judge that there was no photo finish photograph available. He then used the race film to satisfy himself as to the correctness of the placings in terms of NHA rule 65.6. This process delayed the all clear and official result being given. Due to this delay the starting time for race 2 was rescheduled in order to allow the betting public time to place their bets. The winner ETERNAL HOPE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). GIFT OF PEACE post-race distress syndrome. GOODBYE LOVE, GRANADILLA and MISS TIMPS abnormal respiratory noise.
