CANDY MOON and ROYAL ZULU GUARD (AUS) lost 1 length FOURTH ESTATE lost 2 lengths. CANDY MOON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ADMIRAL'S EYE jumped a patch and faltered badly at approximately the 1200 metre mark. Jockey Marcus did not persevere with his ride over the final 250 metres. Jockey Randolph reported that he felt something amiss with KING OF TORTS in running. Apprentice Patel, the rider of FLYING FELLOW, accidentally dropped his crop at approximately the 100 metre mark. Apprentice Patel signed an Admission of Guilt for a Warning for a contravention in that he rode FLYING FELLOW in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at approximately the 100 metre mark. Vet: KING OF TORTS and ADMIRAL'S EYE - nothing obvious detected. FOURTH ESTATE - post race distress. The Medical officer reported that Jockey Marcus injured the left thumb - clinical fracture. Scratched: EMPEROR NIARCHOS - hoof abscess. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure except MOONLITE MIST (Race 3) and FOURTH ESTATE (Race 8) which were identified by means of microchip numbers. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
