The start of this Race was delayed due to a replacement rider having to be weighed out for the horse GRACY CAT, as Jockey Lerena was injured on the way to the start. The start of this Race was then further delayed due to the late scratching of ROYAL QUEST. GRACY CAT jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing 1 length. BODEGA raced equipped with alumite shoes. POSH IN PARIS raced equipped with cheek pieces. POSH IN PARIS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Pringle was questioned regarding the improved performance of POSH IN PARIS. She explained to the Board that the addition of cheek pieces to this filly's racing equipment, as well as the change of racing surface had accounted for the improvement. It is the intention to race POSH IN PARIS similarly equipped and where possible on the sand racing surface in future. This explanation was noted. GAME PLAN was hanging in from the 300 metre mark. Jockey Little, the rider of GRACY CAT, and Jockey Zechner, the rider of OPPIE KOPPIE, reported that their respective mounts made a respiratory noise. Vet: GRACY CAT and OPPIE KOPPIE - no respiratory noise detected post race. Scratched: ROYAL QUEST - not striding out right fore.
