The start of this race was delayed due to Jockey Strydom, the rider of TZIGANE, and Jockey Marwing, the rider of WINTER PASSION, having to be reweighed and their mounts to be re-saddled. The start was further delayed due WINTER PASSION and HEART WARMING being injured in the pens. WINTER PASSION broke through the front gate injuring itself, dislodging Jockey Marwing and bolted the course. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. She is suspended for a period of thirty days and until re-passed tractable with a companion on a raceday. HEART WARMING broke through the front gate injuring itself and bolted the course. AMERICAN PIE jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. ONE FINE DAY and HA LUCY were slow, losing 1 to 2 lengths. In view of the performance of ONE FINE DAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Assistant Trainer de Kock was requested to report back to the Board should he find anything amiss on return to stables. HA LUCY and TZIGANE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: TIGER QUEST (AUS) - abnormal respiratory noise. ONE FINE DAY - examined post race, no significant findings. Scratched: WINTER PASSION and HEART WARMING - injured in the pens.
