The tongue tie on COPPER PARADE had to be refitted by the Veterinary Surgeon. BLARNEY BAY was restless in the stalls. COPPER PARADE and CAPETOWN NOIR were slow into stride. VILLA DEL LARGO cast the left fore shoe in the saddling area, which the farrier replaced. Jockey Behr reported that HOT TICKET made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. Jockey Byleveld reported that THE WEST IS WIDE changed stride continually in running. Jockey Cheyne reported that THE WHICH DOCTOR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine HAPPY FOREVER and submit a report. Jockey Doyle, the rider of HAPPY FOREVER, appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts to the finish where circumstances permit. THE WEST IS WIDE had to check at the 300m when tightened for galloping room on the outside of HAMMIE'S HOOKER, which was carried outwards by TEVEZ, which was switched out to continue its run after being baulked for a number of strides. A tiring COPPER PARADE had to steady momentarily in the closing stages when tightened for galloping room between LANNER FALCON, which shifted in slightly, and HAMMIE'S HOOKER, which shifted out slightly. TEVEZ and DARING DAVE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: HAPPY FOREVER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. THE WHICH DOCTOR - returned not striding out behind. HOT TICKET - returned making a slight respiratory noise. THE WEST IS WIDE - returned not striding out on the left fore.
