JET EXPLORER cast the left fore shoe at the start, which the farrier replaced causing a delay. CASTLETHORPE (AUS) jumped awkwardly, losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. AFRIKABURN jumped awkwardly inwards and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Schlechter reported that AFRIKABURN changed stride continually in running. In view of the performances from JET EXPLORER and PUNTA ARENAS, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the geldings and submit a report. LIGHT THE LIGHTS was difficult to settle in the early stages. LEGISLATE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: JET EXPLORER and PUNTA ARENAS - inspected post race and no significant findings were detected. AFRIKABURN - inspected post race and no significant findings were detected.
