CAULDRON (W Kennedy) was slow into stride and lost 1 length. ALFREDO (*J Gates) was stubborn loading. Trainer L Denysschen was advised to re-school. In the straight, GREEN DREAM (S Randolph) was hanging out, proving difficult to assist. KAYSON (A Marcus) shifted out away from the crop at the 300m. ALFREDO (*J Gates) had to be ridden to keep pace with the field from the 600m. Thereafter, this gelding finished its race off strongly. In the concluding stages, FIREHAWK (C Zackey) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of HELLO AGAIN (E Ngwane), which shifted out away from the crop marginally. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse WHATEVERITTAKES more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey Moodley, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey Moodley struck the horse WHATEVERITTAKES, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey Moodley used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. KAYSON (A Marcus), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P Muscutt acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford advised (DA). Jockey B Jacobson was the rider of DIMITRI (advised 08h13/07.06.2020). KAYSON raced fitted with blinkers (advised 08h02/07.06.2020). ALFREDO raced fitted with alumites both fore and unshod behind (advised 07h39/07.06.2020).
FLASH GALA is a gelding and not a colt as carded (gelded 06.04.2020). To be investigated. SCRATCHINGS : IN TIME 'N TUNE : Hoof abscess left fore (advised 07h51/07.06.2020). Rule 53.5 applies. FREDDIE THORNE : Reserve runner. DO RE MI : Reserve runner. SILVER DAWN: Reserve runner.
