BABY BE MINE and HURRICANE WIND, which were restless in the stalls, were slow losing one length. In view of the performance from DAVYANA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly and submit a report. JET TURBINE had to steady at the 200m when tightened for galloping room between SCARLET WITCH and SUGAR FREE, which was carried inwards by BABY BE MINE, which shifted in. Jockey van Niekerk appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear of other runners before shifting ground in future. SEA SPRAY became slightly unbalanced in the concluding stages when brushed on a number of occasions by SCARLET WITCH, which attempted to improve on the inside of CASEY'S JET and was carried inwards when CASEY'S JET shifted in slightly. A Member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review regarding this incident and after reviewing the patrol films from various angles, in the company of Jockey Cheyne, the rider of SCARLET WITCH, was of the opinion that the result had not been affected and therefore took no further action. Jockey Cormack, the rider of CASEY'S JET, appeared before the Board regarding the incident and was advised to take the necessary measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. SEA SPRAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: DAVYANA - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
