The start of the race was re-scheduled at the request of the Racing Operator. NHLANHLA (*J Gates) and RED VISION (S Veale) lost 1 length, respectively. Trainer G B Puller signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horse MEXICAN CATDANCE. A penalty of a warning was imposed. STANTON STREET (W Kennedy) was hanging in in the concluding stages. JOINT EFFORT (G Wright) was hanging out in the straight. In view of the performance of MEXICAN CATDANCE (A Marcus), (distance 12.90 lengths, betting 81/20), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Apprentice J Gates reported that he felt something amiss with NHLANHLA (16.40 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
