The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. EXCLUSIVE QUANTITY (S Veale) was slow into stride and lost 1 length. In view of the performance of MR FITZ (D Dillon) (4.45 lengths / 43/20 betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer S Humby was requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. DRUNKEN SAILOR (B Jacobson) raced awkwardly throughout. Shortly before the finish, TRAVELLING LIGHT (*T Gumede) was carried in by SOLID GOLD (S Moodley) which shifted in away from the crop. Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse EXCLUSIVE QUANTITY more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey Veale, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey Veale struck the horse EXCLUSIVE QUANTITY, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey Veale used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. GENEROUS LADY (T Godden) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P R S Waugh, acting on behalf of Trainer P Lafferty advised (ML). SO VAR raced fitted with a cornell collar and fitted with blinkers (advised 07h41/07.06.2020). PEARL OF ASIA did not race fitted with a tongue tie (advised 07h17/07.06.2020). MR FITZ : Nothing obvious detected. PEARL OF ASIA : Speedy cut left fore.
