Jockey Byleveld reported that CAPTAIN ROMANOV took no interest in running and was hanging in, in the straight. In view of the performance from BIG FREEZE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt on its return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. Trainer Kannemeyer has been requested to report back to the Stewards regarding this colt's condition on its return to the stables. In view of the report from the Veterinary Surgeon regarding DESTINATION KNYSNA, Trainer Steyn has been advised that he will be required to notify the Stipendiary Board when he next enters DESTINATION KNYSNA, in order that the Stipendiary Board and a nominated Veterinary Surgeon, may pass her fit to race. BIG ED was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CAPTAIN ROMANOV - returned striding short on the left fore. BIG FREEZE - was inspected post race and no significant findings were detected. DESTINATION KNYSNA - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise.
