The start of this race was delayed due to the late scratching of ISPHAN for the betting public to restructure their bets. APPROVAL RATING reared in the stalls. MALTA ROCKS was stubborn loading and stumbled shortly after the start. POWER JET was stubborn loading and lost one length. Jockey Strydom the rider of ONE COOL CAT reported that this gelding changed stride continually in running. Apprentice Penny reported that POWER JET made a severe respiratory noise in running. MALTA ROCKS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ONE COOL CAT - examined post race, no significant findings. POWER JET - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: ISPHAN - not striding out.
