The start of this Race 1 was delayed due to there being no power. As the start was effected LATINO HEAT reared, broke open his front gates and thereafter fell over backwards dislodging Apprentice Neethling. Thereafter the balance of the starting stalls opened for no apparent reason resulting in a false start being called. The field was pulled-up within 400 metres with the exception of LONG WALK, who dislodged his rider and bolted the course and subsequently being scratched. As a result of Apprentice Neethling being injured after LATINO HEAT reared and fell over in the starting stalls, the Medics were required to transport him immediately to hospital. In view of the above, after consultation with the Racing Operator Representative, a decision was made to abandon Race 1. Race 2 was abandoned due to time constraints and no ambulance being available. Race 3: FAIR CATCH, BALADO and PERFECTLY STUNNING were slow into stride. SIR TRIPPI lost one length. CHANTECLER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BURRA BOY pulling hard in the early and middle stages. Apprentice Godden reported that SIR TRIPPI refused to gallop. MOST NOBLE raced wide throughout. Vet: SIR TRIPPI - nothing obvious detected. JEDAK - severe cut into right hind. FAIR CATCH, MISTY POWER and PERFECTLY STUNNING - coughing. Scratched: CARLIN - hoof abscess right fore. WHITE CHRISTMAS - coughing. OCEAN PIRATE - transport breakdown.
