FEELS LIKE HEAVEN and BANDSMAKEHERDANCE were slow into stride. COCO LOVE, PRINCESS BEACH, DECLARATION and DIVINE AMANDA lost one length. FEELS LIKE HEAVEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. COCO LOVE and DECLARATION made contact shortly after the start, resulting in DECLARATION being squeezed out. ROY'S DOCTOR (AUS) shifted in at approximately the 1700 metre mark, resulting in CARMELA'S FURIO becoming cramped and having to be eased. Thereafter at approximately the 1600 metre mark ROY'S DOCTOR (AUS) again shifted in, resulting in CARMELA'S FURIO becoming cramped and having to be eased. Jockey Maphumulo signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, as the rider of ROY'S DOCTOR (AUS), he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horse CARMELA'S FURIO at approximately the 1700 metre mark. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. CARMELA'S FURIO, compounding, was not persevered with in the latter stages. Jockey Randolph, the rider of KITH AND KIN, reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in the final straight. Vet: CARMELA'S FURIO and KITH AND KIN - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: WHOOPS A DAISY - insufficient recovery time. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
