SHAKESPEARIAN was restless in the stalls and then reared dislodging Jockey van der Merwe and despite the Handler's attempt to restrain this colt, he broke free and bolted to the 500m. A Handler caught this colt and took him to the 1000m where he could exit the course. This caused a lengthy delay to the start of this race. The Starting Stall Certificate for SHAKESPEARIAN has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. GIANT STEP was stubborn loading. MUNFALLET (AUS) was stubborn loading, lost two lengths and stumbled shortly after the start. OXFORD UNION was restless in the stalls. Trainer Soma was advised to re-school this gelding prior to his next engagement. ULTIMATE TIGER (AUS) lost three lengths. STONEHENGE was difficult to settle in the early stages. ULTIMATE TIGER (AUS) shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened leaving the 150m. Jockey Nyawo, the rider of MUNFALLET (AUS), appeared before the Board and was advised against the practice of using his crop on a horse which is out of contention for a place. In view of the performance of MUNFALLET (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Strydom, the rider of OXFORD UNION, reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. In view of the performance of CAPTAIN NEV, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. In view of the performance of TRIPP FORCE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. LUCA DELAGO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CAPTAIN NEV, OXFORD UNION and MUNFALLET (AUS) - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. TRIPP FORCE - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: CAPTAINOFMYHEART - coughing and respiratory disease. SHAKESPEARIAN - delayed the start and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter.
