The start of this race was delayed due to ESTIDRAAJ (AUS) breaking through the front gates, dislodging the rider and bolting the course. LA CENERENTOLA was restless in the stalls and broke through the front gate, was restrained by the Handler, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. ESTIDRAAJ (AUS) was restless in the stalls, injuring itself. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. Apprentice Zackey, the rider of RAINY DAY, reported that this filly did not stride out freely in running. Shortly after straightening FORTITUDE shifted out slightly away from EUPHORIA, which rolled out. Thereafter from the 400m EUPHORIA and FORTITUDE raced tightly until the finish. Jockey Zechner the rider of FORTITUDE placed second called for a race review and then lodged an Objection against the winner EUPHORIA on the grounds of being carried outwards in the straight. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by the connections of both horses and reviewing the patrol films of the incident complained of, was of the opinion that FORTITUDE had headed EUPHORIA near to the 200m and the two horses had raced competitively to the finish line. The Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the result had been affected and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. Jockey Zechner's deposit was refunded. EUPHORIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: RAINY DAY - not striding out left front. Scratched: ESTIDRAAJ (AUS) - injured in the stalls and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. NTOMBE (AUS) - lame right front.
