ACT OF WAR was fractious in the stalls and had to be removed and reloaded later. Trainer Ramsden will be advised that this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn. LIGHT THE LIGHTS was reluctant and stubborn loading. Trainer Kotzen will be advised that this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn. BALANCE SHEET was reluctant loading. IMPERIAL GOLD and ZAMBEZI RIVER were slow, losing one length. The change of riders in this race were made in due time with Stewards permission and with the mutual consent of all the connections. Jockey Behr reported that he felt something amiss with CAPTAIN ALFREDO in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the colt and submit a report. HARRY'S SON (AUS), which brushed ARNISTON shortly after the start, raced awkwardly in the early stages. IMPERIAL GOLD was forced to ease approaching the 1000m when awkwardly placed on the heels of HARRY'S SON (AUS), which was carried in slightly by KINGVOLDT. Jockey Delpech, the rider of KINGVOLDT, appeared before the Board and was advised to give sufficient room to runners on his inside in future. SHEER TROUBLE was tightened for galloping room for a number of strides on the inside running rail approaching the 1000m. ARNISTON pulled hard in the early stages, was difficult to restrain. ACT OF WAR and HARRY'S SON (AUS) were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CAPTAIN ALFREDO - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. HARRY'S SON (AUS) - returned with speedy cut on the right fore fetlock. Scratched: ALPHA PEGASI - injured left fore.
