LAW ENFORCER and THE BIG SHOW bumped at the jump. Apprentice Zackey was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse ICE GODDESS more than three times on consecutive strides in the closing stages. Apprentice Zackey signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. Jockey Aucharuz, the rider of LAW ENFORCER, reported that this colt changed stride continually in running. Apprentice Penny, the rider of MAJESTIC STRIDE, reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Naude, the rider of PROUD AS PUNCH, reported that this gelding changed stride continually and thereafter did not persevere with his riding. PROUD AS PUNCH cast the right hind shoe in running. CARLITO BRIGANTE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. THE BIG SHOW was ridden by Apprentice Thabana who claims a 2,5kg allowance. The Stewards allowed this as there was no suitable rider available. PROUD AS PUNCH was sold with engagements and the Ownership should read: Mr B E Miskin & Mrs J Moffatt; and the Colours are: Orange, white sleeves, hooped cap. Vet: LAW ENFORCER - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. MAJESTIC STRIDE - not striding out left hind. Veterinary report required prior to entry. PROUD AS PUNCH - cut into right hind. Scratched: ANGEL GABRIEL - change of surface. COOL KID - lame right front. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
