SACRED JOURNEY (S Veale) lost one length. Shortly after the start, BINARY STAR (T Godden), QUATRO FIVE SIX (S Randolph) and MONARCHY (E Ngwane) came together and bumped. Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with RUNNING FREELY (24.75 lengths) in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockey E Ngwane signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse MONARCHY more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey E Ngwane the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey E Ngwane struck the horse MONARCHY, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey E Ngwane used his crop, and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. KINGSTON ROCK (*J Jacobs), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P Muscutt acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford advised. ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) was ridden by Jockey J Samuel. Reserve runner (advised 10.06.2020/08h45).
